5ozcheddar cheese(sliced; measure with your heart)
2teaspoonfresh thyme
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Peel the apples and slice them into evenly sized pieces.
Mix together the sliced apples, lemon juice, honey, ground cinnamon and ground cloves.
Pour the apple mixture into a 8x8 baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
While the apples are baking, slice the baguette into ½" slices. Brush each side of the baguette with olive oil.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 7-8 minutes until lightly browned.
Assembly the crostini: place a slice of cheddar cheese and 1-2 baked apple slices on each crostini.
Lightly sprinkle the thyme leaves on top. Serve & enjoy!
Notes
The baked apples listed in the recipe card is a half portion of my honey baked apples recipe. I actually prefer to make full-batch of my honey baked apples (following the linked recipe). I use about half of the apples for the crostini appetizer and save the other half to enjoy on their own (usually with ice cream). The images in the step-by-step instructions shows a full-batch of apples in a 9x13 try.
